Elder Scrolls 6 Likely Won't Release On PS4 and Xbox One

Bethesda has all but confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI will not release on current-generation consoles. In a new interview, The Elder Scrolls Online director Matt Firor told fans not to expect The Elder Scrolls 6 PS4 or Xbox One, as when the game comes out there will certainly be “a different console generation”.

This matches what we’ve heard before from Bethesda boss Pete Hines, who suggested we shouldn’t expect to hear more of Elder Scrolls VI for a long time.

You can find the full interview at Gamespot. They asked Firor whether The Elder Scrolls VI would have any impact on The Elder Scrolls Online, and he wasn’t worried.

“I don’t even know what the world is going to be like when it comes out; there will be a different console generation by then, I’m sure. Who knows. But I know we’re free and clear for a long time.”

We shouldn’t expect to see the game for a long time, in fact Bethesda’s new IP Starfield will probably be out first, so it’s not surprising that it won’t come out until well after the PS4 and Xbox One are dead. It’s possible that the game may be titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Redfall, but even that we don’t know for sure.

However, what we do know for sure is that Bethesda’s latest game Fallout 76 is out on November 14 and the beta is running now.
