Battlefield 5 Developer Lost Staff After Star Wars Battlefront II's…

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has had a fairly troubled development, and a number of issues have popped up with the game post-launch, too, but it seems that the problems are even worse than they first might’ve seemed.

According to DiGITAL, a Swedish business magazine, DICE have been losing employees left and right over the issues surrounding the development of Battlefront 2. Worse, since DICE employ about 400 people, losing 40 veteran developers means they’ve lost 10% of their active workforce over 2018.

Granted, DiGITAL is careful to note that DICE has been getting some really tough competition in the industry market in Stockholm, where they are seated, due to the fact that many other developers are opening up offices there as well. These include Epic Games, Ubisoft, and Paradox Interactive, so the developers have plenty of options to change employment.

However, they also cite that many of the developers leaving the studio have been burnt out on the mess that was Battlefront 2: “It was a debacle. For many DICE employees, it was very tough to have to quickly redo the game”, say their sources.

In the meantime, post-launch development of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 DLC is trucking along, mostly as planned, with four months of content already drawn out.
